Grammar a Day - Level 1 [ 今ごろになっ ~も (imagoroninatte) ]

今ごろになって ~も (imagoroninatte) - it's already too late

--- Notes ---
this is used like
[verb-te]+mo

--- Examples ---
今ごろになって勝訴しても、亡くなった人は帰ってこない。
Even though we won the lawsuit, it's too late to bring the dead back.

明日出発なのに、今頃になってビザがないなんて。
You are leaving tomorrow, and I can't believe at this late point you still
haven't gotten yourself a visa!

今ごろになってそのようなことを言われても遅いよ!
It's too late for you to tell me that at this stage!

今ごろになってやめろと言われても遅い
Its too late to tell me to stop now!

今頃になって(から)、切符を買うのは遅すぎる
Its too late to buy tickets now.

今ごろになって(から)、注文しても遅い

It's too late to order

今頃になってそんなこというの?
Are you telling me that at this juncture in time?

--- Comments ---
Do the brackets on #3020 and #3021 indicate that both phrases can be used
with or without から with little change in the meaning? If so, since they
are similar constructions, would it be better to have one without and one
with, and an explanation of this optional extra in the notes? (contributor:
